Day 16 November Self Love Challenge

#NovemberSelfLoveChallenge, Self Love Challenge,

Draw a self-portrait.

Today’s prompt is to draw a self-portrait, this is the hardest activity in this challenge.

As a child how often did you draw a self-portrait, children spend so much time centred on themselves and drawing themselves in a positive light. At what age do we stop this habit? Why?

I love drawing, I always have. I am not the most artistic person so often don’t share my images with anyone but myself but I love treating myself to a quiet moment with some pencils and a blank piece of paper.

With this love to draw, I still never draw self-portraits. There is something daunting about the idea of putting yourself on paper that has stopped me from drawing even a stick figure of myself.

Today I am scheduling 2 hours in the evening to sit down with a mirror and draw a self-portrait. It will be a caricature style so I don’t feel so raw and uncomfortable with the picture I finish with.

Have you started the #NovemberSelfLoveChallenge? Leave a link in the comments below so I can follow along with your journey too.

Did you struggle with this activity?
