Day 12 November Self Love Challenge

Write down 5 things that make you happy.

Today’s prompt is to write about things that make you happy, what makes you smile or pulls you out of a bad mood. Memories and moments have a way of completely changing your mood, you can be having the worst day ever and think of a moment in time that made you feel like you were living the best day of your life and suddenly all that negative emotion simply slips away.

Thinking about previous memories and moments can also have the opposite effect and leave you feeling sad so it always pays to have a memory or moment that you can pull from and squash the negative memory.

5 best memories

I have many memories and moments that make me feel happy but my top 5 would have to be:

  • The day Levi was born.
  • The day I got married.
  • Levi’s first birthday.
  • Our honeymoon in Paris
  • Waking up after my most recent kidney transplant.

Anytime I think of those moments in time I cannot help but smile and occasionally get a little teary. There is so much joy in those 5 memories and I could not pick a favourite but I like having them floating around my mind, I often thinking about these times when I have had a bad day and want to be reminded of why I work so hard.

There are other less life-changing moments that I also use to help pull me out of a mood, I often think of Dylan holding me and telling me to breathe when I start having an anxiety attack and just the thought of him calms me down and helps pull me out of the attack.

What are the 5 things that make you happy?

Did you struggle to stop at just 5, I know I did.

  1. This is a good idea. Now I am thinking of starting mine too, not only can it help us be more positive, it can also somehow push us to write more while thinking of things we should be grateful of.

I am Lenny by the way, a Filipino working as a teacher in Japan.
Here’s my link just in case you wanna follow back;)
