There is something so wonderful about taking a break from your desk and getting outside of a few minutes for a quick breathe of fresh air. Getting time to take a few minutes out of your day to treat yourself to the sun on your skin can be hard, there are always things to do, people to call and time ticking on by.
Time blocking can be a great way to give yourself a few minutes throughout the day but is not the best when you have a deadline to meet and don’t want to give up those precious moments for something as trivial as a quick walk.
However we all need to take a lunch break, there is no delaying your lunch break and while you might like to eat at your desk to help sneak in a few extra tasks, who is really benefiting from this?
Eating lunch at my desk while I work is a big one for me, I struggle to step away and occasionally I won’t even take lunch I will just snack throughout the day and try to justify that as my required break.
I have pledged to try and take a 15-minute walk at least 3 times during my lunch break this week, the weather is starting to warm up but is still cool enough that I won’t sweat my make up off on the walk. I can bring my gym clothes to work with me, quickly change and head out for my walk and then be back in time to change back into my work attire, finish my lunch and get back to my desk all during my break.
